Do you think we look alike?

Now that I've arrived, the three famous questions have begun:
1.  Who do I look like?
2.  What colour hair will I have?
3.  What colour will my eyes be?

As you can see by my sister, Skylar, she is quite fair.  Mommy had hoped that I would be her "darkie" and look like her with dark eyes and hair.

Judging by this picture, she'd better give up hope on that wish!

And as for whether or not I look like Skylar...you be the judge.  Here I am with mommy just one day after I was born.

And here is Skylar just three days after her birth.
What do you think?

Nana comes for a visit

On my sister Skylar's birthday (Nov 25th), my Nana C came to visit and meet me.

Mommy was thrilled to have an extra pair of hands around the house. And despite the look on my face in this picture, I was happy to meet her.

Three generations of the ladies in our family :)
(Let's hope I'm at least taller than these two LOL).

This is photographic evidence that my Nana is an "over swaddler". Let's count the blankets in this picture, shall we? I see 3..how about you?

All joking aside, thanks so much for coming down for a few days Nana. Mommy really appreciated it and I loved meeting you.

You HAVE to see the baby...

After my arrival (and once visiting hours commenced), my family came to meet me at the hospital.

It was very special for me to meet my big sister, Skylar.

Daddy and his girls.

I got to cuddle with my nana and papa.

This is my Aunt Aly.

My Uncle Sean and Aunt Andrea came by to meet me...
...and they brought my cousins Sarah and Kaya as well.
After everyone left, I had a snuggle with my mommy.

And then I had a snooze...visitors make me sleepy!

I've finally arrived!!!!

Late Tuesday, November 23rd, I decided to come on out and meet my parents!
I was born at 11:35pm -- giving Mommy and Daddy just 2 days between my birthdate and my sister's on the 25th of November. I came into the world with much less drama than my sis...in just two pushes, in fact!!!

I was a very healthy 7lbs, 4 oz and was 20.5 inches long.

After I was all cleaned up I had my first official cuddle with my Daddy.

Then I snuggled with my mommy to thank her for carrying me around for 39 weeks (and sacrificing all sugar and treats for half of them!)
My parents named me SLOANE KENNEDY ETHERINGTON.
It's nice to meet you!

And still...nothin'!!

It's November 15th today and I still have not made my appearance. My sister was 3 weeks early so my Mom was certain I would also arrive on the scene way before her November 27th due date.

Aunt Aly called to see if I would consider coming out today (she picked today as my date of delivery) but I refuse to compromise. It's nice and cozy in here and I'm not in any rush.

And besides, I prefer to remain mysterious :-)

November has arrived!!

Well, it's finally here - November - the month of my due date.
Mommy officially finished work last Friday and is now busy washing the mountain of baby clothes that once belonged to my sister to get ready for my arrival.

So...when will I make my appearance???
Feel free to post your guesses!!!

I weigh 4 pounds!!

Mommy had an ultrasound yesterday to monitor my growth.
It was very exciting as she hasn't seen me since I was only 18 weeks old.
While she didn't get any pictures to share, she's happy to report that I am a very healthy little girl. She was able to see my heart beating, my little hands and feet as well as me blinking and opening and closing my mouth.
She also learned that I already weigh 4 lbs, which is right on target for what I should weigh at 32 weeks and 4 days. For now, my due date is still November 27th and a C-Section is not necessary (HURRAY). However our Dr. has a feeling that I'll be early, just like my big sister was.
We'll just have to wait and see!!!

I have a name!

Ever since mommy and daddy learned that I was a girl, they have been busy creating their baby name veto lists with the names they both like.

For those of you who don't know, a baby name veto list is where each parent writes down their top 10 name choices. The lists are then swapped, with each parent having the power to veto any of the names they don't like. The theory here is that you will end up with a short list that you both like.

It's taken a few cracks at the lists (and some very sketchy suggestions from Daddy) before they finally found one that they both love. And much to Mommy's chagrin, the name was actually one that Daddy suggested months ago and has grown on her.

What is this name, you ask???

Well...you'll have to wait a bit longer. Since everyone already knows I'm a girl, the only surprise they have left to share is what I'll be called for the rest of my life.

It's a GIRL!!!!

HURRAY!!!!

Mommy and Daddy finally found out that I'm a girl :-)

Now we can personalize my blog and I no longer have to be referred to as "it", "the baby", "the nugget", or "the peanut".

The best reaction that my parents have gotten to the news of my female gender was from my sister, Skylar.  Daddy and Mommy told her when they picked her up from school on Thursday.  They waited until they were outside of the school to tell her.

She squealed with delight, clapped her hands and then ran to back into the school to tell her entire class that she was having a baby sister.  She's very excited to show me all things princess, dress me up and boss me around!

Hi Everyone!!!

It's me...Baby E making my official debut!

While my gender is still under wraps, Mommy thought she would share my very first picture with everyone and thus begin my very own blog.

Creating two blogs may be some extra work for her, but Mommy feels that each of her kids should have their own pages to express themselves.

I can't wait to meet you!!!
